The Bull’s Balloons
Baapolis Book of Kopernicus Volume 2 Chapter 20
“You must help me, for I love my brother! He won’t be celebrated where I come from if our Shikei knew that he died simply from tripping and falling!” The bull beseeched him.
Zeta was suspicious at first. “And what can a mere corgi do?”
Moosaki seized on that word — mere. He bulled his way in. “Why? You are not just a corgi. You are a fierce, fierce canine, indeed! Your jaws, your teeth, your biting power is the same as the old wolves of ancient times.” The bull ballooned the corgi’s ego and Zeta floated on this feeling, higher and higher.
“Bite on my brother’s ears. And when I return, I shall tell my brothers it was fierce bandits like you we met on the road. And my brother died defending me.” The bull inflated him further.
Zeta savored this sweet, sweet ego, for he had never been called fierce, or compared to the old wolves of ancient times. His heart told him to go for it at once.
CHAWOMP! He bit down on the dead bull Masaaki’s right ear. When he realized his force really wasn’t that strong, he took a few more bites at the same spot.
Moosaki heaped thanks upon him. “I shall never forget you.” And in that instant, he spotted Zeta’s white shiny weapon, the Brussels Bludgeon in porcelain. “Is that your weapon of ferocity!?” the bull exclaimed.
“Uh yeah! Of course!” Zeta floated on the bull’s balloons again.
Moosaki argued that if he took the weapon home, it would serve as solid proof of what happened. That the bandits had sharp weapons like these too, in addition to their own savagery and fangs.
Zeta reluctantly gave up his porcelain weapon. “...Alright. But know that this is a serious display of my fierceness…you must put it in a nice cabinet when you get home…”
The bull received the weapon with barely concealed eagerness, and gave a deep bow.
